Excel Global Outreach
Excel Global Outreach is a 501c3 organization located in Conyers Ga and serving fulltime in the country of Honduras. We serve in the forgotten villages of Honduras by bringing education, medical, dental, vision, children and women clinics into these villages. Many of our doctors and dentists are sent to us by universities, medical groups, and faith based organizations. We have several streams of ministry that is explained more on this website. Thank you for your support
Our Minstries
Clean Water
Water is an issue in many villages. We have worked with many municipalities to provide water storage and filters to purify their water .
Clean water is something many of use and never think twice about. These people do not have the water to bathe, brush their teeth, to cook with or stay hydrated.
The picture above is a water storage area that has a shower and toliet under a roof. This structure costs us around $1000.00
Elderly
It is very common for us to find an elderly person with no family in these villages. They have no family that lives in the same community and are living without help. We find most in very poor health and most of the time malnourished. Our program brings food and medicine to these elderly people. We get the municipality health department involved to assist in the monitoring of these beautiful people.
Infant Care
This is a serious problem in Honduras. We have found 13 year old children with a baby and no way to feed the child. Many times these young girls will not produce enough breast milk to provide for a newborn. The family has no resources to acquire baby formula.
It is our prayer that we never have to lead another funeral because a baby starved to death. We need help to have enough resources to deliver the baby formula to these villages
Special Needs
In the year 2021, our team visited 76 children with special needs. Our initial mission was to bring help to the home bound mother. To assist in bringing a trade to mom in the form of sewing, making jewelry and/or hammocks.
What we found was heartbreaking. Many of these children were not born with these special needs. I heard a story from a mother about how she loved to watch her daughter play on the soccer field than one day she got sick with a fever. Mom did not have the money to buy medicine to help her daughter. After four days the fever broke but the child was never the same.
We cannot accept that a child’s brain got fried because mom could not afford acetaminophen. We have to help these people.
Better Life
Improving Living Conditions
The Better Life program was launched by our medical teams and logistics director in 2022. Our medical records were showing a very high rate of children with respiratory issues. The leadership team visited the first family and found that the 8 ft by 10 ft home was a home for seven children. The small space had a wood burning stove in corner that was producing enough smoke to cause lung damage to everyone in the family.
A deal was made with the municipality, community leadership, and our donors to build an unattached room to these residences for the children to sleep. We will build the home out of cement, blocks, and metal roof. No stove will ever be allowed in the addition. This costs us approx $3000 to bring a Better Life to these children.
Education
Bring 7th grade to College education to the children of Honduras
In 2017, a little over 500,000 children did not promote in the Honduran education system. Many graduated from 6th grade because it would be a three hour walk to the 7th grade classroom. These children will leave home to go find work as young as twelve years old. Since their is no work outside of agriculture these children do not see any hope nor light for their future. So they leave to to go find work in the larger cities. The majority are tempted into the gang life or the caravans to the United States. We lose so many to Human Trafficking that it is truly not trackable.
Excel Global Outreach has worked with the Ministry of Education, AMHON, and IHER to bring distance education to these children in their own community. The cost is under $100.00 per student for the entire school year. This cost includes registration and all books. Since 2018 we have started eighteen classes and would love to see every child offered an education.
Our next step is to bring in vocational education and small businesses into these communities. We have several projects that have already begun and many more in start up phase. Write to jrhoton@excelglobal.org to hear more about what we can do to keep these children safe at home.
Medical and Dental
Brigades
The medical and dental brigades began by trying to meet the needs of the people that lived in the remote villages. We had found several children that were very sick and had never used a toothbrush. We started asking for volunteers from our Honduran community and from the United States. Today we have over one hundred volunteers and we are working in fifty seven municipalities. We have dental teams that preform extractions, fillings, ultrasonic cleanings, instrument cleaning, and fluoride for every child under sixteen. We have an outstanding doctor and nursing team that covers general family medicine. We are currently seeking an eye doctor to take us to the next level with vision care.
Excel Global welcomes everyone to come and take part in a life changing brigade. We are working with many groups out of the United States to bring a better life to the Honduran people.
We also send out a welcome to those that are studying medical, dental, nursing, nutrition, therapy, engineering, and economic development. We would love to see you develop a team of your classmates and assist us in bringing change to a community.
Root Cause
Human Trafficking
Through our educational program we have found that many children get drawn away into human trafficking. The children are promised great jobs, modeling careers, roles in movies, and many other opportunities. These kids leave the village and is never heard of again. On our last brigade a mother came up to me and ask me to pray for her as the found the body of her child in Florida. In the month of July it was reported that over eight thousand kids from Honduras and El Salvador that crossed into the United States cannot be found.
Human Trafficking is a 150 billion dollar business. Like any business it is supply and demand. It is our desire to do our part in reducing the supply from Honduras. Help us bring hope and light to these children, give them a nice home through our Better Life program. Let’s get them a high school education and teach them a vocation. Let’s invest into businesses in these communities.
Our medical, nursing and dental teams work hard to get these kids healthy to where they can stay in their community. We can create the environment for learning when the students is not hungry, thirsty, or sick. They can see hope and light in their community and become productive and assist in developing the economy in each municipality.
It is a moment to celebrate when a child is found and release from Traffickers. When a child that is deported back to Honduras they are far from free. These kids have been abused in ways that is far from our imagination. They need help that we cannot fully provide. We must help them while they are still in the safety of their home.
Let’s Be the Change
Each of us has the opportunity to help those living in extreme poverty. Most people see different levels of poverty in our lives. Extreme poverty is something that we should never see. Yet, it exists. Together, we can make a change.
